Reasons to Migrate to Cloud Version 8


Ease of Training and Migrating to Version 8

  • The users had no difficulty training and transitioning to Version 8. 

  • Each time a user opens a M2M function, it creates another window on the browser.

  • The migration was successfully performed by Aptean over the weekend.

  • Follow-up issues were addressed promptly.


 Custom Reports Moving to the Cloud

  • Custom reports were identified and transitioned to the test migration for verification.

  • Issues with the custom reports were resolved.

  • Custom reports migrated correctly during the live migration.

 

Reduced Security Risks and Network Administration

  • The client’s server was hacked which motivated them to move their ERP system to the cloud.

  • All of the updates and maintenance of ERP server hardware and software is eliminated.  Other applications will still need network and work station support.

 

Integration with CRM Application

  • Cloud Version 8 has a seamless integration with Aptean’s CRM through App Central.

  • Functionality of the CRM seems robust.

  • The client did not like having a CRM system separate from Made2Manage.

 

The Use of Widgets to Provide Dash Board Summary and Drill Down

  • Can be setup differently based on users.

  • Allow filters to select certain groups of information.

  • There are standard Widgets to choose.  It would be nice to be able to create customized widgets.  Hopefully this well be in a future release.

 

Artificial Intelligence integrated into App Central

  • This seems to be the largest reason to move to Version 8.   A lot of companies are evaluating how to use AI.

  • Aptean claims that many customers of Version 8 have seen substantial results.

  • This makes more sense than to extract all data to an outside service.


Reasons to Hesitate Moving to Cloud Version 8


Environments that Have a Lot of Integration with Other Systems.

  • It does not look like the previous methods of accessing M2M data will work.

  • The client's AutoCAD integration was solved by downloading Job details to a CSV file.

  • Version 8 does not yet support using Command Scheduling to periodically send CSV files.

 

Companies that want to manage your customizations.

  • You will be reliant on Aptean for new Customizations (reports and screens).

  • Non-Aptean support companies will not have access to customizations but still can be used for training and getting the most out of your Made2Mange software.
